We are looking for an Accounts/Finance Manager to cover maternity leave on a 12 month fixed term contract to start asap (week before Christmas if possible!). The role will be to manage and oversee the purchase ledger, ensuring all suppliers are paid, produce financial reports and process monthly payroll. This role is offered on a 30 hour a week basis with a hybrid working model, 3 days in the office 2 days working from home.

Key responsibilities for the Accounts/Finance Manager

  • Complete monthly management accounts through accounting software SAGE and liaise with accountants for processing
  • Issue all payment applications to clients and invoices on a weekly basis
  • Manage all credit control activities on a weekly basis
  • Conduct bank reconciliation activities on a daily basis
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns via SAGE
  • Collate information from timeclocks, conduct monthly payroll for all employees,
  • inputting information into payroll software IRIS
  • Approve holiday and absence management requests through holiday system
  • Manage payments of sub-contractors and complete construction industry scheme (CIS) requirements on a monthly basis
  • Carry out activities for CIS reverse domestic charges as required

Skills and attributes required for the Accounts/Finance Manager

  • Relevant qualification or previous experience/background in similar accounts/finance role
  • Strong communication skills, ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
  • Professional, approachable and flexible.
  • Team player works effectively with colleagues across all functions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive nature to get things done.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Must be highly numerate with the ability to analyse data
  • Good understanding/experience of using Excel
  • Good understanding/experience with Google Sheets
